It is scientifically established that significant personality traits depend on individual functions of the brain.
The renowned American brain researcher Professor Paul D. MacLean was able to prove that the human brain consists of three sections which control different functions (functional structure of the brain). Despite their differences, these three very different brain sections must still work together in the triune brain and communicate - but each one sticks to its own very specific rules of the game. Human behaviour is the result of the interplay of the instinctive reaction of the brain stem, the emotional, impulsive limbic system, and the cool, rational reaction of the neo-cortex.
Every human being has a different, genetically influenced relationship between the three brain sections. This is the individual's biostructure. In adults, this biostructure remains stable over time.
The anthropologist Rolf W. Schirm, in cooperation with Professor MacLean, identified and defined typical personality traits or behaviour in the biostructure that demonstrate a clear link with the three brains. Schirm formulated a list of questions for determining the individual influence of the three parts of the brain. These questions are used during the seminar and the results are made visible with the Structogram disc.
In human personality, Biostructural Analysis makes a distinction between a genetically predetermined, non-changeable basic structure and environmentally-determined‚ changeable characteristics. In other words, some personality traits or behaviour cannot be changed permanentely, but can be changed temporarily by a self-aware and willing person.
(A scientific esplanation for the interplay of the three brain sections can be found in the theory of neurotransmitter-homeostasis.)

Memorable visualization
The results of the Biostructural Analysis are visualized by the Structogram.

Brain stem (Reptile brain)
Seat of feeling for life and instincts.
Diencephalon (Limbic system)
The brain for emotions and self-assertion.
Cerebrum (Neo cortex)
The brain for rational thinking and planning.
